Charges Issued on Bank Robbery Suspect

Police have charged James R. Byler, of Carondelet, with robbing two banks in South County.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office has charged James R. Byler, 39, with two counts of robbery in the first degree. He is being held on a $100,000 cash bond. 

Byler, of the 7700 block of Vermont Avenue, is suspected in connection with two bank robberies at Century Credit Union at 1540 Lemay Ferry Road. and the . 

No one was injured, and both times, a man entered the bank and left a note on the counter which demanded money. After obtaining an undetermined amount of cash, the suspect fled on foot.
