Man Almost Crashed Into Police Car While Fleeing, Police Say

St. Louis County Police said when they caught Alexander Krupp, he had stolen items in his trunk.

A High Ridge man faces criminal charges after St. Louis County Police said they found he had property stolen from cars in Oakville.

Alexander M. Krupp, 21, of the 1500 block of Cleo Court, was charged May 6 with felony stealing and resisting arrest.

St. Louis County Police said officers responding to a suspicious person report spotted Krupp in his car at 2:52 a.m. Oct. 12. England Town Road and Pierwood Drive. Officers said when they shined a light on Krupp’s car, he slumped down in attempt to avoid being seen.

When an officer approached the car on foot, Krupp sped off, nearly striking an occupied police car, according to the police report. Krupp was caught a short time later, and police said they found property stolen from a victim’s car in the England Town Road and Pierwood Drive area.

The stolen property was valued at $1,760.

Bond was set at $15,000 for Krupp.
