Man Kicks in Door, Trashes Mehlville House With Woman Home, Police Say

St. Louis County Police said Omer Kordic and another man broke into the home and broke a TV and other furnishings. They were arrested a short distance away, according to a report.

A man is charged with kicking in a door to a Mehlville-area home while the resident was in the house and damaging the residence and furnishings.

Omer Kordic, 26, of the 200 block of Kayser Avenue in the Lemay area, was charged with first-degree burglary and second-degree property damage.

St. Louis County Police said Kordic and another man kicked in a door to a home in the 500 block of Ruthland Drive at about 10:07 p.m. on Jan. 25. A woman was home at the time. The men punched a hole in the door, shattered a TV screen, broke a coffee table and a ping pong table, according to a court document.

Police said Kordic and the second man were arrested a short distance away. The second man has not yet been charged in the incident.

Kordic is being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center. Bail was set at $50,500.
