Police Blotter: Attack at South County Mall

The St. Louis County Police crime report from Aug. 22 to Aug. 28 includes incidents occurring in Mehlville, Oakville and Lemay.

Aug. 22

  • Unknown suspects intentionally set fire to the dumpsters at an apartment complex on the 2600 block of Southfield Crossing Drive.  
  • Electronics were reported stolen from a vehicle on the 200 block of Lemay Ferry Road. 

Aug. 23

  • A red, 2004 F350 pick-up truck; a black, 2002 Bobcat trailer; weed trimmers; blowers and riding lawnmowers were reported stolen from the 6200 block of Lemay Ferry Road. 
  • Police arrested and shot a suspect after an altercation where an ex-boyfriend broke into a victim's residence, assaulted her and stole a tan, 2002 Nissan Altima.  
  • Arrests were made after a suspect displayed a pickaxe at the South County Mall. The attack was racially motivated. 
  • A blue and silver 1995 GMC Conversion van was reported stolen on the 400 block of Hoffmeister Avenue.

  • A brown, 1992 GMC Safari Van was reported stolen from the 3700 block of Calef Drive. 
  • A power washer and keys were reported stolen from the 40 block of Kassebaum Lane.

Aug. 27

  • Bomb and arson detectives are conducting an investigation of a residential explosion. A victim was severely injured at the home on the 200 block of Runyon Ave. 
  • Police arrested suspects after stopping them in a stolen vehicle. 
  • Lawnmowers, power tools and a red, 1990 Chevy C2500 pick-up truck was reported stolen from the 100 block of Velma Ave.
