Police Find Meth Lab After Car Chase

Police arrested the suspect, who was driving a stolen truck from Jefferson County.

St. Louis County Police arrested a man after a police chase led to the discovery of multiple active meth labs. 

At approximately 6 p.m. Monday, an officer was patrolling on Telegraph Road and discovered a stolen truck. When the officer attempted to stop the truck, the suspect swerved and tried to hit the officer, police said. 

Police from the South County Precinct pursued the suspect, who took Interstate 255 to Illinois, exiting at Route 3 to Quarry Road.

Another officer deployed stop sticks, which flattened the truck's tires. The truck traveled through a neighborhood before stopping. No injuries were reported.

The suspect then tried fleeing from the car and struggled with the police officer, drawing a knife. The man stopped resisting when the officer fired two shots without hitting the suspect and was taken into custody.

A search of the vehicle revealed meth-making materials and several active "" portable meth labs. 

Police said the truck was stolen out of Jefferson County. 

No additional information has been released about the suspect.
