Two Arrested on Charges of Stealing $1,000 in Purses

The thefts occurred after they reportedly pushed a clerk at another South County store.

Two women were arrested by officers from the Metropolitan Police Department of St. Louis after they attempted to steal jeans from the  at the South County Mall, St. Louis County police reported.

On May 29, both women left the clothing store without the jeans and drove to in a stolen car after reportedly pushing a store clerk. 

The two women stole 10 purses worth $1,070 from Marshall's and were later arrested in the 2500 block of Murray Street near Jennings.

Police pursued the car into St. Louis and arrested two more passengers, one of which had a loaded pistol, county police report.
