Underage Driver Who Struck 12-Year-Old Also Involved in Hit and Run
The 15-year-old driver was issued tickets for reckless driving and second degree assault, in addition to leaving the scene of an accident.
An underage driver was behind the wheel when a vehicle struck a 12-year-old on General Sherman Lane in nearby Affton Wednesday afternoon.
The victim was walking westbound around 4:30 p.m. when he was struck. He suffered non-life threatening injuries, St. Louis County Police Department spokesman Randy Vaughn said.
The driver of the vehicle was 15 years old, driving with a permit but not a supervising adult. He'd also just left the scene of a hit-and-run accident at Heege Road and Gramond Drive.

The first collision did not produce any injuries, Vaughn said, though he could not offer information Friday afternoon on the extent of the damage.
The 15-year-old was issued four tickets, including leaving the scene of the accident and driving without a license. He faces charges of reckless driving and assault in the second degree in the Family Court of the St. Louis County Circuit Court, Vaughn said.
