ACLU Sues St. Louis County Police Department Re: Sunshine Law in Racial Profiling Case

The ACLU requested public records in February of an anonymous letter that said a department lieutenant was racially profiling while on patrol.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Eastern Missouri has filed a lawsuit against the St. Louis County Police Department for not complying with a Sunshine Law request.

The ACLU requested public records in February of an anonymous letter that stated former Lt. Patrick Hayes was racially profiling while on patrol, according to a statement.

The ACLU says the police department has refused to release any records, according to the lawsuit filed in the Circuit Court of St. Louis County's 21st Judicial Circuit on Friday.
