Construction on I-270 Widening Project Starts Monday

Various lanes of the interstate from Manchester Road to Interstate 44 will be closed nightly through early May.

South County travelers will experience lane closures starting Monday on Interstate 270.

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will close various lanes between Manchester Road and I-44 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. on weekdays in April and early May.

The construction is part of the Interstate 270 Widening Project, which will be completed in two years.

Starting this week, crew will pave and re-strip some lanes, permanently narrowing all lanes on north and southbound 270 to 11 feet.

MoDOT said that travel time along this stretch of highway would severely decrease during peak hours when the project is completed.
