Another resident, Dave Bertelsen, said he supported Fred Padberg and Kathleen Eardley because they were the more conservative candidates.

“It’s our civic responsibility as American citizens to exercise our right to vote, no matter what it is,” said Oakville resident Tom Sisson. “It’s these sliders complaining over their neighbor’s fence—if they don’t contribute, they can’t complain.”

The April local elections typically have low voter turnout. , 19 percent of voters cast ballots in the Oakville Township.

Sisson said he would be supporting , a St. Louis County ballot measure that would make repairs to the Family Courts building in Clayton.

“It needs repairs and a redesign to be more citizen-friendly,” he said. “It’ll also add jobs and that’s the key to fixing the American economy.”
