Help Locate National Guard Alumni for Anniversary Party

The Guard is gathering alumni of the Officer Candidate School.

The Missouri National Guard, which has a base at historical , is on the lookout for more than 900 alumni of the Officer Candidate School (OCS) for its 50th anniversary on Sept. 8.

The ceremony in September will be at the state capitol rotunda and Capitol Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City, MO. All OCS graduates and their families are welcome.

“It’s a graduation and dining out as usual, but also a 50th anniversary celebration,” Maj. Ken Huenink said in a Guard release. “We will invite some special guest speakers and we’re hoping to invite the more than 900 past graduates of OCS since the first class in 1962. So this is a pretty big event.”

The school has changed twice over its history, adding to the difficulty of finding alumni.

“Locating past graduates has been the most difficult task,” Huenink said. “Those who served 20 years or more and retired, we have pretty good track of, but those who served a shorter time are sometimes harder to locate. There are some earlier classes whose rosters were missing entirely.”
