Local Forums Announced for School and Fire Board Candidates

Two forums will be held Wednesday and Thursday for the school and fire board candidates.

Two forums are set for Wednesday and Thursday to inform voters of the April 5 election candidates and their platforms.

The first, organized by the , is set for Wednesday, March 23 at 7 p.m. at the library, 3200 Lemay Ferry Road. All nine candidates vying for three open positions on the Mehlville School District Board of Education will be in attendance. Each candidate will give opening and closing statements and former board member Kathy Weber will moderate questions from the audience. 

The is hosting a forum for the two candidates running for chairman on the Mehlville Fire Protection District Board of Directors. The forum is Thursday, March 24 at 7:00 p.m. at the Lindbergh School District Administration Building, 4900 Lindbergh Boulevard.

The candidates, Aaron Hilmer and Mike Klund, will both be in attendance. A third candidate, , will be on the ballot, but has decided not to run or participate in the forum. Hilmer is the current fire board chairman and has served on the board since 2005. 

Attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions on cards and hear opening and closing statements by the candidates.
