Mehlville School Board Approves Salary Increases

The board held a special meeting Tuesday night to approve pay increases for staff and administration.

The Mehlville school board met Tuesday night at a special meeting to approve salary increases for classified staff, administrators and the superintendent.

The pay increases approved were:

  • Classified Salaries for 2012-13 – The Board approved the recommended average salary increase of 2.5 percent  for classified employees (not including directors).
  • Administrator Salaries for 2012-13 – The Board approved the recommended salary increase of 1.5 percent for all administrators and directors.
  • Superintendent’s Salary for 2012-13 – The Board discussed and recommended a salary increase of 1.5 percent for superintendent  Dr. Eric Knost.

The 2011-2012 academic year was Dr. Knost first year as superintendent. Before the 1.5 percent increase, Dr. Knost’s original salary was $185,000.

Robin Anderson, communications coordinator for the district, said the special meeting was held because the increases had to be voted on in an open meeting. Board members, she said, discussed the increase during closed session at their June 21st meeting.
