MoDOT Advises Motorists on Weekend Road Work, Plans for Lemay Ferry Sidewalk Improvement

Interstate 270 and downtown are weekend hot spots, while a public meeting will be held next week to discuss Lemay Ferry Road sidewalk improvements.

Lanes will be closed again in St. Louis County this weekend for restriping work on northbound I-270 between Gravois and I-44. The lanes will be closed from Friday night until 5 a.m. Monday.

Beginning Saturday, May 14, only two northbound lanes of I-270 in this area will be open as bridge repairs also continue. On Monday morning, the northbound I-270 lanes will be split with two lanes on the left of the work zone and three on the right.

Motorists should use the far right lane to access either eastbound/westbound I-44 or Watson Road (Route 366).
Northbound I-270 will have reduced lane widths, and the speed limit is lowered to 45 mph through this work zone.

Oakville motorists traveling to this weekend’s downtown events, including the Annie Malone Parade, Heart Association Walk and Tour de Grove, need to be aware of various lane, ramp and road closures. Next week Monday through Wednesday, lanes will be closed in each direction during the day on I-55 at Delor.

The proposed project consists of sidewalk, street crossing and intersection improvements, primarily 1.5 miles long on the east side of Route 267, to comply with the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA). The improvements will be made between Lindbergh Boulevard (Route 61/67) and Buckley Road.

No formal presentations will be made during the meeting, however, attendees can offer comments.
