MoDOT Begins Construction on I-55 Bridges This Week
Oakville travelers heading south may need to make room for extra travel time.
The Missouri Department of Transportation will begin work on the Interstate 55 bridges over the BNSF Railroad starting the week of July 11.
This project consists of construction of new northbound and southbound bridges on I-55 between Herculaneum and Festus. There will be one lane closed on I-55 in each direction on July 13 and 14 during non-peak travel times from 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., each night. Crews will perform this work during evening/night hours.
Two lanes on the interstate will remain open during peak travel times (daytime hours). This project is expected to be completed by late 2012.
