Comments: This was an opening inspection. Thermometers were missing in two coolers on the prep line; storage bins with rice twists and sugar were not labeled, scoops for these containers did not have handles; lids of storage bins had debris on top. A cove base was not provided in the walk-in cooler; the item needed to be corrected by Feb. 3. No subsequent inspections are on file.

River City Casino, 24-Hour Diner, 777 River City Casino Blvd.
Inspection date: Jan. 3 (follow-up)
Grade: A (98)
Comments: Items were corrected from a previous inspection, including missing labels from containers. A black moldlike substance was observed on caulk sealing a sink; the inspector recommended replacing the caulk.

Grade: A (100)
Comments: Items from a Dec. 27 inspection were corrected. The inspector once again found multiple trays of baked potatoes in a walk-in cooler, and discussed proper cooling procedures. 

Euro Market & Grill, 3225 Lemay Ferry Rd.
Inspection date: Jan. 23
Grade: A (99)
Comments: This was an opening inspection. 

Church’s Chicken, 3208 Telegraph Rd.
Inspection date: Jan. 3
Grade: A (100)
Comments: An inspector responded to a complaint. A manager discussed how food returned to the kitchen is counted and then discarded. The restaurant also underwent a routine inspection on Jan. 3, earning an A (97). Dust, dirt and food debris were observed on walk-in cooler floors, as well as walls in the kitchen and dish areas. Employee coats were being stored on shelving units intended for food storage; the inspector recommended that there be a designated area for personal belongings that is away from food.

Inspection date: Feb. 8
Grade: A (100)
Comments: An inspector responded to a customer complaint. The inspector spoke with the manager regarding proper employee hand washing.
