Restaurant Inspections: Elicia's Pizza, Domino's, KFC, McDonald's, Lemay Wok

Inspection date: Feb. 5 (follow-up)
Grade: A (98)
Comments: A routine inspection on Jan. 23 revealed that Hepatitis A information was incomplete. Debris accumulation was noted on the chicken trough, and the inspector recommended that water temperatures be adjusted at two hand sinks. During the Feb. 5 follow-up inspection, the debris accumulation and water temperature had not been addressed, according to the inspection report. The items must be corrected before the next routine inspection.

Lemay Wok, 4530 Lemay Ferry Rd.
Inspection date: Jan. 14
Grade: A (98)
Comments: A hose connected to the mop sink requires a backflow preventer; the inspector also recommended that a wall behind a three-compartment sink be repaired. 

McDonald’s, 4407 Lemay Ferry Rd.
Inspection date: Feb. 26
Grade: A (95)
Comments: The dish machine was not dispensing chlorine sanitizer. Wiping cloths on counters were not stored in sanitizer. A follow-up inspection is planned for March 8.

McDonald’s, 5537 Telegraph Rd.
Inspection date: Feb. 5 (follow-up)
Grade: A (99)
Comments: In an inspection on Jan. 22, the inspector noted that Hepatitis A records were incomplete; wiping cloths on counter were not stored in sanitizer solution; a handsink required repair; and equipment and floors needed to be maintained clean to prevent debris accumulation. During a follow-up inspection on Feb. 5, the inspector noted that the floors had improved but must still be maintained along the baseboard and walk-in coolers. The other items had been corrected. 

Domino’s Pizza, 5661 Telegraph Rd.
Inspection date: Jan. 22 (follow-up)
Grade: A (100)
Comments: In a restaurant inspection on Jan. 11, an inspector noted that no one on duty was in possession of a food protection certificate. Hepatitis A records were incomplete and lighting in the walk-in cooler was deemed insufficient. The items were corrected by the follow-up. The inspector discussed using shatterproof bulbs over the food prep area. 

Elicia’s Pizza, 4401 Lemay Ferry Rd.
Inspection date: Jan. 22
Grade: A (98)
Comments: A leak at a hand sink required repair; wiping cloths on counters were not stored in sanitizer; and chemical spray bottles were missing labels.
