Blades Principal to Take Position in Central Office

Dr. Tina Plummer will take over for Dr. Connie Hurst-Bayless.

The Mehlville School District promoted from within when Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum Dr. Connie Hurst-Bayless announced her retirement. 

Tina Plummer will start as the director of curriculum, assessment and professional development in the fall. Plummer has been the principal for the last six years. 

“We have been incredibly pleased with Dr. Plummer’s performance at Blades Elementary and are excited for her to continue her work as a district-level administrator,” Superintendent Dr. Eric Knost said in a district release. “Dr. Plummer has a wealth of knowledge regarding curriculum, assessment and professional development, and we are confident her expertise will help us to continue moving our district forward in these critical areas.”

The new assistant superintendent holds a Doctorate of Education in Teaching and Leadership from the University of Kansas and a masters in elementary education administration from Southwest Missouri State. 

Hurst-Bayless retires after 12 years with the district and 36 years in education.
