District Names New Bernard Principal, Early Childhood Director

Lori Sullivan will be the new principal of Bernard Middle School and Ann Westbrook will be the early childhood program director.

Next fall, two new faces will be at the helms in the Mehlville School District. Lori Sullivan will take over as principal of and Ann Westbrook will become the new Director of Early Childhood at . 

“Lori and Ann have been strong assets to the district for the past several years," said Superintendent Dr. Eric Knost in a district release. “We are confident they will continue to achieve success in their new roles and have the opportunity to make an even greater impact on the students in the Mehlville School District.”

Sullivan takes over for Phil Milligan and is currently the assistant principal at Bernard. She's worked in the district for the past 18 years as a Communication Arts teacher at Bernard and .

Sullivan has a masters' degree in both education and educational administration.

Westbrook has been a kindergarten teacher at  for the past nine years and worked as an administrative substitute and intern in the district for four years.

She holds a masters' degree in elementary educational administration.

Westbrook takes over for Kathie Fuchs, who has worked in the district for the past 24 years. 

The school board voted unanimously in a closed session to approve the promotions. Sullivan will earn a yearly salary of $100,000 and Westbrook $80,000.
