Eight Oakville Students Earn Perfect Subscores on SAT, ACT

The Mehlville School District is proud to announce that eight of its Oakville High School students earned perfect subscores on either the ACT or SAT standardized test during the 2010-11 school year.  

Oakville High School juniors Emily Goeke and Christina Sherman and senior Michael Weaver earned perfect scores on the ACT English section, and senior Justin Bayer received the top score on the test’s Math section. OHS senior Pierce Langford earned a perfect 36 on the Science ACT subtest, while junior Ryan Karsznia and seniors Elizabeth Luchtefeld, Nicholas Street and Weaver earned perfect scores on the ACT Reading subtest.

“The achievements of these students on the ACT and SAT are not only a testament to their intelligence and hard work during their academic careers, but also to the guidance and support of their parents and teachers. We are proud of what these students have achieved so far and know they will continue to find success in the future,” said Superintendent Terry Noble in a statement.

The ACT consists of tests in English, mathematics, reading and science. Each test is scored on a scale of 1 to 36, and a student’s composite score consists of the average of the four test scores. The SAT tests students’ knowledge of reading, writing and math, and each section is scored on a 200- to 800-point scale.
