seniors could barely contain their excitement as the graduation ceremony ended and caps defied gravity at the St. Charles Family Arena Sunday.
The 415 seniors leave behind a legacy of school spirit and service.
Assistant Principal Dr. Shannon Pike said the Green Pit cheering section hardly missed a game and students raised more than $1,000 for breast cancer awareness, collected items for the homeless and traveled to Joplin for tornado relief efforts.
“As sophomores, one of your fellow classmates made a t-shirt with a slogan on it that inspired your class,” Pike said. “The saying, ‘You wish you were 1-2,’ signifies the pride you have in your class, your school, but most of all, yourself.”
The Class of 2012 at Mehlville received more than $2 million in scholarships and amassed honors from the Missouri Scholars 100 and the National Merit Scholar programs.
