Mehlville Schools Auditorium Gets Enhanced Sound System

The board approved construction on the 20,300 square foot auditorium last fall to support a variety of academic, musical, theatrical and civic events.

The Mehlville School District's $6-million auditorium will get enhancements to its projected sound system for the new facility.

The district's board of education approved a measure last week for a projected $71,200. Two board members voted against the enhancements, according to the Call, board president Mark Stoner and board secretary Rich Franz.

Board vice president Lori Trakas said in the meeting the auditorium is a great addition to the district, but questioned spending $66,000 on sound upgrades.

In total, the project would cost at least $66,200. This includes loudspeakers, $12,800; audio mixing, $11,500; wireless microphones, $11,300; and a telemonitoring system, $30,600.
