Mehlville Seventh-Graders Score High on College Placement Exams

Middle school students in the Mehlville School District took the ACT and SAT college placement tests, and 37 students scored equal or better than half of all college-bound seniors who took the tests. 

Six students also scored in the 90th percentile of high school seniors tested, and were honored with Grand Recognition. 

The Duke University Talent Identification Program (TIP) administered the tests, and students were selected to participate based on their standardized test scores. 

“While these students typically do well on grade-level work, it is quite impressive to see how they stack up against the older students,” said counselor Ann Hinderberge in a district release. “We are very proud of all of their accomplishments and hope they are able to use the information from this testing to help them plan a future full of challenging educational experiences.”
