Two students are giving back to a district elementary school. Katie Leicht and Amanda Schultz are painting a map on the blacktop playground at .
The two girls are creating the map as part of their Gold Award, the highest honor in Girl Scouts.
“We both went to Beasley (Elementary School), and we always liked playing on the map on the playground,” Schultz said in a district release. “We thought it would be a cool thing to give back to another school and give other kids the same experience.”
The project will take a week and when it’s done, they’ll videotape themselves demonstrating games on the map. Students can use the games when they return to school in the fall.
Leicht and Schultz started with stencils and are painting each state using different colors.
