MO State Legislature Honors Oakville High School Students

State Representative Marsha Haefner bestowed the honor on the students and praised their hard work and dedication to the profession of journalism.

The Oakville High School students who helped the Channel 97 News broadcast win a national journalism award were honored on Tuesday, December 18th, with a proclamation from the Missouri Legislature.

State Representative Marsha Haefner bestowed the honor on the students and praised their hard work and dedication to the profession of journalism.

The 2012 Channel 97 News broadcast at Oakville High School received a national ‘Pacemaker Award’, which is the highest honor in scholastic publications. The award was given by the National Scholastic Press Association. Oakville High School was one of just two schools in the nation to earn a Pacemaker Award in the monthly broadcast category.
