Oakville High Students Receive Honors at Juried Photography Exhibit

The work of three Oakville High School photography students was honored at the Olivette Photography Show, an annual juried photography exhibit held April 9-12 by the Parks and Recreation Department in Olivette, Mo.

OHS freshman Katie Bentlage earned first place and a $50 U.S. savings bond in the color photo category for her photo of her dog Max, while sophomore Hope Berntsen received second place honors in the Experimental Photo category. Junior Ciera McNabb earned an honorable mention in the Experimental Photo category.

Bentlage and Berntsen created their photos while enrolled in OHS instructor Joan Larson’s photography class, while McNabb developed her image in AP Studio Art led by OHS instructor Brian Crawford. The students competed against other ninth through 12th grade students from St. Louis city and county in the High School Division of the show.
