The 8th grade Mehlville Jr. Panther Cheerleaders won the powder puff football game 18 to 12.

The 8th Grade Mehlville Jr. Panther Cheerleaders scored three touchdowns to win Saturday’s Powder Puff Game 18 to 12 against the 6th and 7th grade cheerleaders.

The Mehlville Jr. Panther Football players traded places with their cheerleaders, wearing pink tutus (for 6th and 7th grade) and purple tops (8th grade) while cheering on teams.

Sophia Hemrick, an 8th grader, scored all three touchdowns for her team, and Sydney Bouer and Carlie Herman, both 6th graders, scored two touchdowns for twelve points.

Bill Hemrick and Jeff Herman coached the 8th grade girls, and Chris Hemmelgarn and Ronald Johnson coached the 6th and 7th graders.

“It was a great game,” said Darla Hemrick, whose daughter scored for the 8th grade. “We had a lot of parent participation. It was really fun.”

Hemrick said she wanted to thank the Mehlville Jr. Panther Football/Cheer Board for making the game happen.
