Prepcasts.com to Cover Mehlville and Oakville Rivalry Game

Who will you be rooting for on Friday?

Sports rivalries drive spirit and competition, uniting fans and players in an age-old tradition. South County is no different, and our own version of a Cubs/Cardinals rivalry can be seen Friday night when Mehlville takes the field at .

For years, the two high schools in the district compete hard on the field against each other. With Patch covering both schools, we wanted to step up our game as well, bringing you live, play-by-play coverage of the game.

Patch is partnering with Prepcasts.com to bring you a live audio stream of the game on the internet. Friday’s game is the Patch Game of the Week, and will be covered live from Oakville High School.

The two schools not only battle it out every year in sports, but they combine charity with competition. This year, the schools continue with the Underwear Wars. Students, parents and residents can donate unused, adult-sized underwear, undershirts, bras and socks to each school's main office. The donations will be given to the Saint Patrick Center, one of the largest providers of homeless services in Missouri.

Last year, the students raised more than $7,500 in underwear and hope to top $10,000 this fall.
