Whiz Kid’s Accomplishment: Awarded $500 Ben Vogelsang scholarship from the Mehlville-Oakville Foundation.
Whiz Kid’s Key to Awesomeness: Brad Lance loves playing baseball because “it’s a fun game to play with friends. It’s intense but loose,” he said. He’s played outfield for the Varsity team at OHS for the past two years.
In addition to baseball, Lance is a member of the National Honor Society and is a drum major in the OHS band. He also loves his calculus class and even likes to dance.
“My parents have really pushed me to excel in school and get involved in the community…they really wanted me to have a balanced life,” Lance said.
Lance’s pursuit of a balance life led him to receive the Ben Vogelsang scholarship from the Mehlville-Oakville Foundation.
Lance will attend University of Missouri-Columbia, where he will study biology. He plans on pursuing dentistry and aims to have his own practice someday.
