Whiz Kid’s Accomplishment: Received several scholarships to attend Purdue University, including the B.W. Fulks Memorial Scholarship from the Mehlville-Oakville Foundation.
Whiz Kid’s Key to Awesomeness: Yvonne Chu’s long list of extracurricular activities, including Class Vice President, Hi-Step, National Honor Society, field hockey, Key Club and Spanish Society, hasn’t affected her academic achievements one bit. In fact, Chu was recently awarded several scholarships to attend Purdue University, where she wants to major in medical engineering.
“The scholarship [from the Mehlville-Oakville Foundation] will help pay for my dream college, making the financial aspect easier,” Chu said.
She fell in love with the school and surrounding area during her visit there.
Currently, Chu’s favorite class in high school is Spanish, which she finds almost relaxing when compared to her AP calculus class. With her dedication to excellence, though, she should have no trouble achieving her goals.
