River Cruising: An Opportunity for Healing

Do you know someone with cancer? Find out how river cruises are helping cancer survivors and those currently fighting the cancer battle.

River Cruising offers many wonderful experiences for travelers, not the least of which is a chance for healing.  Yes, through travel we can have physical healing by leaving behind the stresses of everyday life, emotional healing by reconnecting with a loved one, a friend, or nature, as well as societal healing in knowing your river cruise travel is contributing to a greater good.

Due to my recent 2-year battle with cancer, I became aware of the Cancer Support Community, an organization that provides free programs for cancer patients, their family members and caregivers.  As a participant of some of the programs  through the Cancer Support Community, I am fully aware of the powerful healing benefits of mindful meditation courses, yoga classes, massage therapy and many more health promoting, life-enhancing activities the CSC offers.

As a grateful benefactor, I feel it is my mission to inform as many people as possible about the programs and services that are available through the Cancer Support Community as well as offer financial support. I am using my business, Simply River Cruises to help me in fulfilling that mission. The programs offered by the CSC are free to the participants because of generous contributions the organization receives throughout the year. Simply River Cruises is engaging with the fundraising efforts by donating $250 from every river cruise booked and traveled with us in 2012 to the Cancer Support Community of Greater St. Louis, our charity of focus for this year.
