The 3-3 Tigers face the 5-1 Lancers this Friday in a Suburban West Conference showdown.

The Oakville Tigers will try to end a four-year losing streak to the Lafayette Lancers when the two Suburban West Conference teams square off on Friday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. at Lafayette.

Oakville is led by sophomore QB Andy Oliver, who has completed 45 of 85 pass attempts for 758 yards, 6 TDs and 4 interceptions. The Tigers will stay balanced by running the rock with junior Moe LaGrand. He has averaged 5.5 yards per carry to go along with 6 TDs.

Oakville’s offense has been clicking as of late. Over their past three games, the Tigers have averaged 32.7 points per game. But to win against Lafayette, Oakville’s defense will have to contain a talented Lafayette offense that will look to move the ball via the pass.

Junior QB Matt Goro and senior receivers William DuPont, Tyler Manne and Brock Behrndt lead Lafayette’s aerial attack. Goro has completed more than 70 percent of his pass attempts this year, and the Lancers have scored at least 21 points in five of their six games.
