"We came out really flat in the first game, I think because of the layover between matches," said coach James Fischer. "We didn't do well at all."

Fischer refocused his team and won the second game after an 8-3 lead.

"The third game was pretty evenly-matched. They started really focusing on their middles and played really well," Fischer said.

De Smet will play the second-place finish in District 2 Monday at Kirkwood.
