Photo Gallery: Mehlville Falls to Lindbergh Despite Late Comeback
In the second of a two-game series, Mehlville falls at home to Lindbergh, 6-5.
After a tough 5-4 loss at Lindbergh on Tuesday, the Panthers hosted the Flyers at home on Wednesday. Despite a late rally, including clutch hitting from catcher Austin Kretzer, the Panthers fell, 6-5.
Nearly all of Mehlville's runs came late in the game after Lindbergh took an early 4-1 lead following the second inning.
Panthers coach Tim Ode was frustrated with field miscommunications that allowed Lindbergh to score, as well as several batters swinging at balls.

Third baseman Alex Nikolaisen made a diving catch to halt the Flyers' offense, and helped to keep Mehlville in the game.
Late in the game, Kretzer's second of two big hits drove in two runs to close the gap. The rally was not enough, however, as Lindbergh senior pitcher Will Spitzfaden closed the game.
