Lumberjack Sam: Big Boy with a Big Heart

This is a weekly pet column featuring an adoptable or adorable dog seen at The Watering Bowl.

This week's "Pooch of the Week" is quite the popular boy; he even has his own Facebook page!  Lumberjack Sam, or LJ Sam as his friends call him, has got so many people rooting for him, that it is only a matter of time before he finds his forever family!

At 1 1/2 years, LJ Sam is one big boy!  This Malamute mix is neutered, heartworm negative and up-to-date on all of his shots.  All he needs now is a loving family!

LJ Sam is learning how to interact with other dogs by making frequent visits to The Watering Bowl -S. Hanley.  He absolutely loves meeting new friends of all shapes and sizes.  He is quite photogenic, and is just as good looking in person!

LJ Sam is gentle, calm and does well walking on a leash. He loves to be active, and would make an excellent jogging partner!  LJ Sam would love to live in the country where he could run all day long, but that is not a must.  If the country life is not for him, a 6-ft privacy fence would probably be necessary, as his foster mom says he can easily hop a four-ft fence.  Ultimately, though, all LJ
Sam really requires is a loving home with some sort of daily exercise.

LJ Sam loves children, but because of his size, he may not be the ideal dog for a family with children under 6.  If Lumberjack Sam sounds like the dog for you, please contact his foster mom at dmccall@fourdirectionshiking.com.  Lumberjack Sam looks forward to meeting you!
