Whiz Kid: Danny Tran
Mehlville High School senior Danny Tran is a whirlwind of activity and volunteerism.
Each Wednesday, Mehlville Patch will be highlighting a young person in the community who is making a positive difference in the lives of others. School: Mehlville High School
Accomplishment: A member of the Mehlville High School Key Club, a nationwide community service organization, Tran volunteers on a regular basis at the Lemay Day Care Center where she reads and brings books to the youngsters.

Key to Awesomeness: Listing only one accomplishment of Tran is impossible. She is a whirlwind of activity and volunteerism. At school, she is a mentor to a freshman, who she tutors and encourages as well as teaches study techniques and checks in on to see if all is going well.
Tran is an active member in the Mehlville High School Choir and is currently competing in a district ensemble competition held at St. Louis Community College-Florissant Valley. A fan of all types of music, her talents include playing the guitar and the piano.
During the summer, Tran volunteers at the Cliff Cave Branch of the St. Louis County Library, where she helps out by shelving books two or three days a week.
An honor roll student at MHS, Tran enjoys all of her classes, but is especially fond of math and science. Upon graduation, she plans to attend St. Louis Community College-Meramec and then transfer to the University of Missouri-Kansas City and major in pharmacology with a minor in forensic science. She also plans to continue her studies in vocal performance.
