Blockbuster in Concord to Close in March

Dish Network is closing nine of 16 Blockbusters in the St. Louis area.

Dish Network Corp, which owns Blockbuster, plans to close nine stores in the St. Louis area this spring, including one close to Mehlville and Oakville in Concord.  The Blockbuster in Concord, located at Kennerly and Tesson Ferry roads, is scheduled to close on March 24.  The closures are part of an announced plan to close 300 stores across the country. According to a story in the Denver Post, the closures include stores which were underperforming or were near the end of their leases.  About 500 Blockbuster stores were closed last year including 10 of 26 locations in St. Louis area, according to a story in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Summer movie blockbuster time is almost here, so this week we discuss everything cinema related. With all of the kids' movies coming out has there never been a more wonderful time to watch movies with your children? Do you go to the movies often or do you rent? How do you deal with unruly kids in the theater? If there is a movie that you are unsure is suitable, do you prescreen?
