Since it's Christmas, share your family's traditions for the holiday.
For me, Christmas starts on Christmas Eve Eve. That was the day my mother gave us our first present of the season: holiday pajamas. This Toler family tradition has very utilitarian roots. (My mother knew if the pj's didn't fit, she'd have time on Christmas Eve to take them back.) But over time, it became one of my favorite Christmas traditions. What are your family's Christmas traditions? Fill in the blank: It just wouldn't be Christmas without __. If your family doesn't celebrate Christmas, how do you spend the day when businesses and schools shut down? What holiday traditions do you practice? Share with us in the comments!

Transportation workers with Mehlville School District gathered dozens of wrapped gifts, loaded them into Santa’s sleigh (a big yellow bus) and delivered them to two families.
Mehlville School District bus drivers are once again spreading holiday cheer by adopting two district families who need a helping hand for Christmas. Driving students to school every day gives bus drivers a chance to get to know their young passengers, and they learn which families might have fallen on hard financial times due to the economy or a medical crisis. Every holiday season the drivers play Santa Claus to a couple of those families and provide gifts that they probably wouldn’t be receiving this year. On Monday, December 17, transportation workers gathered dozens of wrapped gifts donated by fellow drivers and loaded them into the district’s version of Santa’s sleigh (a big yellow bus) and delivered them to two families. The gifts …

Several local companies are available to hang Christmas lights on your house. They take them down after the holidays are over, too.
For some families, "decking the halls with boughs of holly" is a warm and fuzzy Christmas tradition, with all family members participating in decorating the Christmas tree and otherwise putting out all of the home holiday decorations. But there's not a lot of fa-la-la-la-la-ing" involved for the person standing on a metal extension ladder on a cold and windy day, untangling stubborn strands of Christmas lights and attaching them to the gutters. Some companies have made a business out of a sometimes irritable task of stringing Christmas lights on your home. Green Print Lawncare is a Barnhart lawn service company in the spring and summer, but it hangs lights during the holiday season as a way to make money and to keep its lawn service work …

What's Christmas without a moose hanging on your tree?
Decorating the Christmas tree is a personal exercise. Branches are filled with kid's ornaments made through the year at school, or items that carry a sentimental value. Some ornaments reflect the decorator's personality or interests, like the glass pickle that hangs on the tree, or the golf ball ornament that has a cherished place each year. If you're looking for something other than those boring glass balls, or the Christmas balls to adorn your tree, here's a selection of odd and unusual things at Walmart to hang on the tree this year: Merry Christmoose -- Looking a lot like a hedgehog with antlers, the Christmas moose is available for $1.97. St. Louis Cardinals Gnome Game -- Sporting a St. Louis Cardinals on his cap, this rotund little …
