The August primary decided each party's nomination for the November election. Read our coverage of all races. The newly-drawn Senate District 1 includes all of South County plus Webster Groves and Maplewood. The 94th district represents Mehlville along with parts of Green Park and Concord. The 95th district covers Oakville and the 93rd district spreads over Lemay and Affton. The 93rd District represents parts of Lemay and Affton; Bob Burns received 61 percent of the vote.

When Joe Montecillo called Bob Burns to congratulate him on the Democratic nomination in Tuesday's primary, the conversation lasted less than 30 seconds. Burns won by 404 ballots and had 61.45 percent of the vote and will face Republican Tony Leech in November, who ran unopposed in the primary. "I just called Bob Burns and congratulated him on a win and wished him good luck, and he said 'Ok Joe, thanks,'" Montecillo said. "It's been a really ugly campaign." Mr. Messmer's comments are as ignorant as they are offensive. I do not recall seeing him at any Lemay meetings (or Oakville, or Tesson Ferry meetings for that matter) in recent years. He has no idea what he's talking about regarding the attendance and atmosphere of our meetings, or the age of our members. The Lemay organization meetings are open to all Democrats.
