What Should Go Here? Tell us South County's Newest Business

Let the community know what should go in this space on the 3600 block of Lemay Ferry Road in Mehlville.

Mehlville-Oakville Patch is asking readers to set their sights ahead and look to the future of our community. With a vacant storefront on Lemay Ferry Road, just north of Kmart, we're asking readers to tell us what would be the perfect business to occupy the space. There are no wrong answers, and don't necessarily feel obliged to stay within the confines of commercial zoning. What should be atop the area's wish list for new businesses or features in town? Man Charged in Kmart, Kohl's Parking Lot Robberies

Police still seek others involved in the May 11 and May 12 crimes in Mehlville, Crestwood and Shrewsbury.

One man has been charged with robberies in the Mehlville Kmart and Crestwood Kohl’s parking lots May 11 and May 12. Another man has been arrested in connection with the robberies. Markele D. Prince, 17, of the 4500 block of Rosewood Avenue in Jennings, has was charged Thursday with two counts each of first-degree robbery and armed criminal action. St. Louis County Police said a woman was retrieving something from her car in the Mehlville Kmart parking lot, 3901 Lemay Ferry Road, on May 11 when two men displayed a semi-automatic handgun and stole her purse.  According to court documents, another man held the weapon during the robbery in Mehlville, not Prince. Suspect Arrested in Parking Lot Robberies

The arrest is connected with the Kohl's robbery that occurred May 12 in Crestwood and the May 11 robbery at Kmart on Lemay Ferry Road.

Crestwood Police have arrested a man they believe is connected to the armed robbery that occurred on the Kohl's parking lot on May 12.  Two similar incidents occurred at the Kmart on Lemay Ferry Road and at the Mackenzie Pointe Dierbergs in Shrewsbury.  The 17-year-old man was arrested without incident in the 3800 block of Wyoming in St. Louis City. The suspect will not be identified until formal charges are filed with the St. Louis County prosecuting attorney's office.  The robbery at Kohl's occurred at 10:43 a.m. when two men in a green Chevrolet Impala approached a 32-year-old female customer on the parking lot. Photos: Police Looking for Kmart Robbery Suspect

The victim was robbed at gunpoint on Friday.

St. Louis County Police released photos of four individuals they suspect of robbing a victim at gunpoint on Friday morning at the Kmart on Lemay Ferry Road. One suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, approximately 5 feet, 9 inches tall with short hair and eyeglasses. The other three are described as black males in their late teens or early 20s.  Police said the 37-year-old woman was retrieving something from the backseat of her car when the suspects stole her purse and displayed a semi-automatic handgun.  The suspects were last seen traveling south on Lemay Ferry Road in a green, early 2000s Chevrolet Impala with a sunroof and spoiler. Police Blotter: Four TVs Stolen from Kmart

The St. Louis County Police crime report from Aug. 1 to Aug. 8 includes incidents occurring in Mehlville, Oakville and Lemay.

The following information was supplied by the St. Louis County Police Department. Please contact the South County Precinct with information regarding crimes.
