A Japanese national is accused of getting $17,170 in cash advances on fake credit cards at River City Casino. Norimasa Saito, 43, of Osaka, Japan, was charged Monday with five counts of fraudulent use of a credit card from April 2 to April 4, 2012. Saito told police he had been approached by an unknown Chinese man who told him he would need an American credit card to get cash in the United States, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. The man took Saito to an unknown location where he printed out five credit cards with Saito’s name on them in exchange for $500, Saito told investigators. River City Casino has released a simulated, 3-D walkthrough of its new event center, which is part of the company's $82 million expansion plan. Click on the YouTube video that accompanies this article for a look. The event center will feature a 10,500 square-foot ballroom with table seating for 870 guests and concert seating for 1,400. River City Casino's new parking garage is up and running, but the casino has more big changes coming this year. The suspect took the 63-year-old woman's purse and then fled in her car. Police later spotted the vehicle, chased it into North County and arrested four juveniles.
A 63-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint Friday night at a parking garage at River City Casino at 777 River City Casino Dr. The woman told St. Louis County police that the suspect displayed a gun and took her purse and 2012 Hyundai Sonata. She and her 61-year-old friend were not injured. Information on the vehicle was broadcast to surrounding police departments. Police later spotted the vehicle, chased it into unincorporated North County and arrested four juveniles, who were taken to the St. Louis County Juvenile Justice Center. The stolen items were recovered, but gun was not found at the scene. Police are continuing to investigate.

Saint Louis County Assessor Jake Zimmerman announced Monday that the Aasessor’s office and Pinnacle Entertainment, the owner of River City Casino, in Lemay, have reached an agreement regarding the 2010, 2011 and 2012 property value appeals brought by the casino. “I am very pleased to say that we have resolved River City’s value disputes, and reached an amicable agreement that is fair to all involved”, said Zimmerman in a news release. “Our job is simple: determining the fair market value of all properties. That job is the same whether the property is a home or a multimillion dollar business. The intersection of Telegraph Road and Interstate 255 will be getting a makeover next year, thanks to some last minute funding from River City Casino. For more than two years, the South County Economic Improvement Group has been looking for funds to improve the 40 acres along Interstate 255 and Telegraph Road. “We wanted to create something that will be a beautiful entrance to the state of Missouri, into Jefferson Barracks and into the Telegraph Oakville area,” said Larry Giesing with the improvement group. The space became a dumping ground after several bridge and road projects, Giesing said. It is eroding and is only mowed once a year. St. Louis County Police arrested a man at River City Casino with 2,673 pseudoephedrine pills.
Police arrested a man with 2,673 pseudoephedrine pills at River City Casino on Aug. 7. Pseudoephedrine pills are a common ingredient used to make methamphetamine. The suspect received the pills from a man in a white Mercedes and was taking them to another location to produce meth, St. Louis County Police said. The Mercedes had a temporary license plate and was on the north lot of the casino. The man's identity will be released when charges are issued. Read more:

The following information was supplied by the St. Louis County Police Department. Please contact the South County Precinct with information regarding crimes. July 8 A credit card, wallet, driver's license, social security card and birth certificate was reported stolen from the 600 block of Waller Avenue. July 9 Police are looking for a white male suspect, approximately 6 feet tall with short brown hair. An officer received an alarm activation call at South County Auto Plaza (1077 Barracksview Road) and discovered the glass was broken on the mechanic garage.
