Snow Patrol: Roads OK in Mehlville, Oakville

Authorities aren't reporting any major problems on the roadways, but urge motorists to slow down and take it easy. Plus, here is another weather-related note.

Authorities say the roads in Mehlville and Oakville are OK, but they are urging motorists to take their time. A spokesman at the St. Louis County Police Department's South County Precinct said there have been no major problems. He said drivers just need to slow down and take their time. In other weather-related news today, Agape Yoga Studio has canceled morning classes due to inclement conditions.

1.) With the increased traffic on the Daniel Boone Bridge due to lane closures on the Blanchette, why did they decide to do blasting now? It doesn't make sense to have closures on one of the alternate routes. Drivers in the Lake St. Louis/Wentzville area do not have easy access to the Page extension. 2.) Wednesday Snow Update, Drivers Warned Against Travel

The Missouri State Highway Patrol continues to discourage travel Wednesday citing dangerous road "treacherous" road conditions.

UPDATED 3:55 p.m. Wednesday- The Missouri State Highway Patrol continues to discourage travel Wednesday citing dangerous road "treacherous" road conditions. Troopers said the freezing rain, sleet, heavy snow, wind, and bitterly cold temperatures has made driving treacherous and dangerous and all highways and interstates continue to be snow covered.   The Missouri Department of Transportation reports Interstate 70 from Wentzville to Kansas City re-opened Wednesday morning, but said most area  interstates are still snow and ice covered. Interstate 44 West remains closed Wednesday afternoon, but I-44 has opened from Springfield, MO., to Exit 11 in Joplin.
