Officers helped resuscitate the man at the police precinct.
St. Louis County Police resuscitated a man who overdosed on heroin at the South County Precinct Thursday afternoon. A 31-year-old man from Lemay called his cousin to pick him up at his apartment and the two were driving south on Telegraph Road when the man passed out. At approximately 3:30 p.m., the car pulled onto the precinct parking lot and the cousin shouted for help. Officer Justin Holtz checked for a pulse and found the man had none. "He was dead," Officer Mike Schira said. "He was unresponsive and wasn't breathing." Lt. Karl Bulla and Sgt. Brad Wendling performed CPR for several minutes and used a portable defibrillator to bring the man back to life. He had a pulse when paramedics from the Mehlville Fire Protection District …

Two votes separated a police officer and an executive chef when they went head-to-head in a salsiccia— a sausage cook-off at River City Casino Monday. South County Precinct Capt. Marion Monteleone and his brother Jim took on and defeated River City’s Executive Chef John Johnson in the first Cops vs. Cooks Salsiccia Smack Down. The competition was the brainchild of Anthony Sanfilippo, the President and CEO of Pinnacle Entertainment, which owns both River City and Lumiere Place Casinos. The academy started Thursday; space is still available.
The South County Precinct of the St. Louis County Police is hosting a free, nine-week Citizens Police Academy. The academy will focus on different departments and aspects of police service and will include a trip to the academy and a graduation ceremony. Each week, Patch will give a summary of the academy and the lessons provided. The man has been going door-to-door in neighborhoods around Reavis Barracks Road.
Residents have been reporting that a man has been knocking on doors of area homes posing as a survey administrator for the Mehlville School District. Police said he is described as a white male with strawberry blond hair in his late 30s wearing dark pants and a button down shirt. He is carrying a binder and riding a bike. The man has been saying he would like to conduct a survey involving children for the Mehlville School District and has been visiting homes in the Reavis Barracks Road area. Police said the man is trying to sell books and using area school districts as a ploy to get into houses. The St. Louis County Police took over Texas Roadhouse Tuesday night to help raise money for Special Olympics.
Diners at Texas Roadhouse in Kirkwood Tuesday evening may have been surprised to find police officers serving their food along with the regular staff. Officers of the Third and Fourth Precincts of St. Louis County Police (Affton and South County) were at the restaurant for the annual Cops and Cowboys fundraiser, collecting donations for Special Olympics Missouri. Almost 20 cars at both Orlando's Catering and Chuck E. Cheese were broken into on Feb. 11.
The South County Police Precinct is currently investigating 18 car break-ins that took place on Feb. 11 during the Fenton Chamber of Commerce event at Orlando's Catering on Hoffmeister Avenue. Two officers were present, but left at approximately 8 p.m. on an armed robbery call at Big Lots in Oakville, according to 4th Precinct Captain Marion Monteleone. After the officers left, an unknown number of suspects broke into 18 cars on Orlando's parking lot, stealing items and money, including a laptop from an unmarked police car. Another break-in was reported at Chuck E. Cheese that same night. Police suspect the two incidents are connected as stolen items from the car at Chuck E.
