The Tigers lost 54-27 to the Chargers Tuesday night.
As strong as Oakville came out in their first district game, that’s how strong their second opponent, Cor Jesu, came out Tuesday night. The Chargers ended Oakville’s season, winning 54-27 at Fox High School in the second round of district play. “We knew that Cor Jesu was going to press and they play that real tight, in-your-face defense. Without having a day to prepare for it, we knew we were going to be in trouble,” said Oakville coach Aaron Bosch. The Tigers came within eight in the second quarter after forcing two Charger turnovers. But Cor Jesu went on a 9-0 run right before halftime, ending with a 3-…

The Tigers beat out the Panthers for the second time this season. This time it ended Mehlville's season.

Gillman’s team-high 23 points—17 in the second half—kept Oakville in front of Mehlville, to win the first round of the Class 5 district playoff games 65-60. Fox is the tournament host. The first quarter was fairly even. Gillman had six points, but so did Mehlville senior forward Adis Mujakic, who was game-high with a 26-point total. Oakville head coach Nick Traxler was impressed with Mehlville’s play. He said the rivalry was a factor. “We had already beaten them once this year, so Mehlville came out ready to play,” he said. “They knocked some shots down they didn’t knock down the first time.” Mujakic had five …
The Oakville girls defeated Lindbergh High School 54-31 at Fox Monday night.

The Tigers held the Flyers to only 11 points in the first half on their way to a 54-31 victory at Fox High School. “A lot of our offense comes from our defense and when we get out and trap and we get steals and get the ball pushed up, we get a little more confidence in our shooting,” said Oakville coach Aaron Bosch. Lindbergh could not handle Oakville’s full court press, which led to two turnovers early in the game. The Tigers also went four-for-four at the 3-point line in the first half. Freshman Alyssa Norberg led the scoring for the Tigers with 14 points and senior …

Oakville head coach Nick Traxler said the Mehlville-Oakville rivalry is always vicious, and he loves it. “It’s great for our district to have that,” he said. “Andy (Guethle) does such a good job with those guys, and we knew it was so important to come out strong. I thought we had a good first quarter, and that set the tone for our kids’ confidence.” Mehlville head coach Andy Guethle said his team was caught off-guard. “I thought the first half we could …
The Tigers started with the lead, but lost the momentum in a home game.
The lead changed 10 times in a tight girls basketball rivalry game between Mehlville and host Oakville. The game was a Coaches vs. Cancer fundraiser, and pink socks, T-shirts, balloons and ribbons were everywhere.
