The fast food restaurant started construction this month at the corner of Lindbergh Boulevard and Interstate 55.
Wendy's is coming to Mehlville and started construction in early September at their new location on the 6900 block of Lindbergh Boulevard. The burger joint will be in the same lot as the Holiday Inn, Marshalls and Krispy Kreme. It'll open by the end of November, Wendy's spokesperson Kitty Munger said in an email to Patch. Several residents said they wanted a Wendy's in the area in July a Patch story. A Wendy's store was previously located on Lemay Ferry Road.

Tell us what should go in this empty strip mall space.
Last week, we asked readers to suggest a new business for an empty building on Lemay Ferry Road. Days after comments about a Popeye's Chicken and several other restaurants, we learned the fast food chicken place could come in at another location on Butler Hill Road. Just up the road from the old Wendy's building is another vacant space in a strip mall next to the Twisted Bull Saloon. What would be the perfect business in this location? There are no wrong answers, and don't necessarily feel obliged to stay within the confines of commercial zoning. Let us know in the comments section below.

Church's Chicken is projected to open over the summer.
A new home for the elderly is coming to South County on Mattis Road just north of Towne South Road. St. Louis County Planning and Zoning granted Prive Living a 10-acre conditional use permit in January to build the home, which will be located at 4948 Mattis Road. Cheryl Mattsson-Hebron, who will be heading the new facility, said she aims to have a construction schedule within the next few weeks. “I think it’s something the area really needs, and I’m excited to be coming to St. Louis,” she said. Mattsson-Hebron owned several residential assisted living facilities in Springfield, IL. Prive Living will build a 200-unit group home for the elderly on the 10-acre site. Funny, for a restaurant that's supposed be open by the end of November, there sure was alot of parking lot and indoor final construction that was still needed when my family and I drove by there on Saturday December 1st!   more ›
