Mehlville Superintendent Expresses Concern for Transferring Districts

Mehlville School District Superintendent Dr. Eric Knost says he thought transfer applications would have slowed by now, but says more requests keep coming in.

Mehlville superintendent Dr. Eric Knost spoke with KMOX on Friday about school transfers and discussed two concerns he has.

The first deals with the amount of parents submitting school transfer applications from Riverview Gardens School District into Mehlville School District.

“We have a running tally that shows each grade level and currently what the enrollment is,” Knost told KMOX. “Those numbers on a daily basis continue to grow.”

The second concern deals with how much each of the two transferring districts will have to pay those districts accepting its students. Knost told KMOX tuition for all transferring students out of the Riverview and Normandy school districts there is running a tab of $17 million.
